Spring Study Abroad at Paris IV
Sun, 09/05/2010 - 23:58
I’m in the process of finalizing my plans to study abroad in Spring 2011 (originally now—Fall 2010). I’m working on the Visa process right now, but my pre-enrollment arrangements to Paris IV is already secured. (Yes, I know I will still have to arrive roughly 1-2 weeks early for physical enrollment.)
My issue concerns housing:
I know that Sorbonne doesn’t supply housing as it’s primarily a commuter college, like the college I attend now in the US. I know CNOUS is responsible for assisting foreign students, but I don’t want to rely on something and get screwed in the end.
If there’s any effort I can make on my part to ensure I have housing before I arrive in France (or at least some viable leads), that’d be great. I’ve heard that I could email the student union or check out Fusac, and intend to follow up on those.
I’m planning on leaving early, late December/early January, and doing some traveling, primarily in the UK, before taking the ferry or the train from England to Paris. I’m working on an itinerary right now if anyone has any recommendations, tips, tricks, or warnings for the UK, feel free to respond.
I am leaving from New Orleans, LA with $9100 for 291 days
Washington, New York, London, Brussels, Rome, Paris, Munich, New Orleans, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Manila

studying in the UK is such a life-changing opportunity. Good luck
