I just found out about this beer festival in March in Munich. I want to go while we are there. I cannot seem to find when exactly it starts. Some websites say St. Patricks Day, some say during Lent but not WHEN during Lent…It seems because it is not a touristy thing (more for locals), I cannot find out when the dates are. I would need for 2011.

Anyone know this?? All I know is it’s 2 weeks. Usually march, but Easter is really late in 2011 so wondering if it will be in april instead…

Could that be ‘Fasching?’
I believe that used to coincide with ‘Carnaval’ in Bavaria – that would make it late February in 2010; Easter Sunday is 4 April.

But, not to worry: you can buy strong beer in Munich anytime.
