Student accomodation in Paris
Sat, 05/08/1999 - 22:03
Can anyone recommend student accomodation options in Paris, or the suburbs?
I am planning to study at the Alliance Francaise in March of 2000, and I am having a hard time finding housing.
I thought that the YWCA might be a good option, but I have not heard back from them as of yet. I know there were several student residences outside of Paris that were very inexpensive 10 years ago, but I can’t seem to find any of them on the Web. Has anyone else stayed at the YWCA or any other student residences?
Thanks so much!!

I know this is an old post, but, as many many people study abroad in France, I thought I’d post this really helpful link to CNOUS-CROUS a government run website with resources for “student life.” It’s difficult to navigate, and not all pages are available in English, but if you’re patient and competent in French, it can be a good resource for finding low-cost housing. It tells you how much you can expect to pay for housing and link you to current listings (studio apartments or rooms with families). It also includes links to places to eat for cheap, entertainment, transportation, visa information etc.
