I found a Newark to Dublin on Aer Lingus for like 630ish… I THINK that’s good []

Excellent. I just tried ITA with departures from May 25 to June 24, 1 month stay, and it found $601rt total JFK-DUB with Aer Lingus departing 18 June and back on 21 July.

I think ITA either missed this fare yesterday when I checked, or Aer Lingus just started offering a sale fare yesterday—the latter would be my best guess.

And of course Dublin is a good entry and departure airport if the price is cheap enough, because of Ryanair’s heavy presence, and Aer Lingus trying to compete on price with them to many destinations all over Europe.

Left coasters:  SFO-DUB is $711 and a bit more on several dates in that time range with Aer LIngus.

Don, how are you getting some of these fares (specifically the NYC departures) under and around $500 if departing by late-May?  I’ve checked British Airways and Aer Lingus, and the best I can find is no less than $630.  I’m in Tennessee, but for those kind of rates I could easily justify a bus trip up to NYC.  Thanks!

To anyone else, that ITA consolidator is worth it’s weight in gold—use it!

That’s superb for a stay > 30 days. Glad it helped. ITA actually aren’t a consolidator, they are an airfares database with very powerful search and sort tools. Sometimes the prices they find are not available. This can be due to airlines providing incorrect fare or availability information, or availability on one or more flight legs changing from the last avaialbility ITA received until a customer actually tries to book from an end-seller (such as Expedia, Air Canada, Orbitz, etc.). When all else fails, Orbitz sometimes can find the fares that ITA finds; I believe Orbitz use ITA technology for their fare search and itinerary construction.

Anyway, glad you found a good price. Thanks for posting your details. Everyone else out there in the USA listening? Check Air Canada for good sales to London if outbound in May! Someone else tipped the forum about this sale last week.

I found a a fare from LAX-Stockholm, Sweden for $1090 (Continental), travel dates: d:7/13-r:1/7/09 and wondering if I should get it. The deal expires on May 5th. I typically wait to about a month before travel to get my tickets because I have noticed you can get some good deals. For example last year I found a ticket around christmas time to Sweden for $750 about one month before departure, but 2 weeks later the price had gone up to $1000.
I am afraid though that I might not be able to get a cheaper ticket since I am leaving in mid July and staying for 6 months.
Any suggestions?

From my own personal experience I would you suggest you check the ATI website and others like it as much as possible. I bought a LAX to London Heathrow on Air France for $767 Total RT  6/24-8/31. What I did was check these websites (the ones Don has posted on these forums) several times daily while at work and even in the evening when I got a chance. I made this a habit. I bought my ticket at work right before I left for the day.

I actually had a chance to buy those crazy SFO to FRA tickets you can see&nbsposted a while ago on this forum for $460 RT but I didn’t have my passport yet and wasn’t sure if I was going to be issued one, bad for me because I missed out on a hell of a deal.
