hi there

I am travelling to prague next week and will be there for a week before I have to go to amsterdam. I have been searching the web and cannot seem to find any way to purchase a city to city train fare. I know that I cannot travel direct ( have to go through germany with at least one change) but cant find anywhere to book. The one place I found it was £200! any suggestions? Am I better to get a ticket from prague when i get there?

Thanks Smile

I don’t know of any way to buy this ticket on-line, except from the travel agency websites where you’ll pay at least 35% more (and possibly double) than the price to buy it at the station in Prague.

Option 1. Buy the ticket at the station in Prague.

2. Where are you right now? Try buying the ticket, in person, at the nearest major train station.

3. Have you looked for a cheap flight?

I just booked a ticket from DB rail, from Prague to amterdam, for me and my partner, we are not going till January, so we can get certain reductions, so its €98 for 2, lets see if I can put the link in just change the date to what you need, the time of travel is around 6pm, if you put in a time thats too late it will show you trains from the next day. Let me know if it works.

Thanks for posting, Dorian. It’s good information and a good reminder to always check to see if DB will sell the ticket. A few months ago DB only sold tickets for routes within Germany and some routes that either started or ended in Germany. Nice to know they now sell tickets for trains that cross Germany even if both the start and end are in other countries.
