What happens when we don’t reserve a seat on a train? I mean are we allowed to travel on just the eurail pass? Some trains have compulsory reservation, but what if I get on a train that doesn’t have compulsory reservation…but I find all seats to be occupied? If it’s a short journey, and if i’m in a hurry, can i travel standing up?Smile or do i have 2 get down and get a reservation on the next train?
I know it’s a silly doubt but I was really curious about dis.

I am leaving from Paris with $1000 for 21 days
Vienna, Zürich, Rome, Amsterdam, Florence, Marseilles, Monaco, Lucerne, Barcelona, Brussels, Paris
Requesting help with Transport, Hostels, Budget, Itinerary, Nightlife

If the train requires a reservation you may be forced to get off at the next stop. Train stops are very short so it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to buy a reservation in time to get back on the same train. Most likely the conductor will sell you a reservation and charge you a fine — be sure to have adequate funds in local currency.

Yes, you can usually stand. I’ve been on trains that were crammed like subway cars with lots of people standing.
