So I was looking on Bahn.de for train tickets from Amsterdam to Berlin. I was surprised to see that a 2 way ticket costs over 100 euros! Can anybody recommend me a cheaper way to get a ticket? My plan is to spend 1 week in Amsterdam, take the train to Berlin and spend 1 week there, take the train to Prague and spend 1 week there, and then take the train back to Amsterdam and fly back to the US. I am a student so money is tight and I don’t think I could afford such an expensive train ticket.

Please help! Also, if theres a way to get a ticket directly from Prague back to Amsterdam can you help me with that too? I found a ticket from Berlin to Prague to be a cheap 750 CZK, Hopefully I can find more tickets like that one!

Thank you for your help. There is no rush also, I am planning this all for next winter from mid December to mid January.

Also, on another note. I would like my ticket from Amsterdam to Berlin to be 1 way, and then my Ticket from Berlin to Prague to be 1 way also, then a single 1 way ticket from Prague to Amsterdam. If this is possible please help me out!

Thank you once again!

Train travel is a bargain in Europe because it’s fast and convenient. However, a 750 km trip in Netherlands and Germany isn’t going to be “cheap” unless you find a special.

I’m not sure where you’re looking, but I find tickets from Amsterdam to Berlin are as low as 39 euros (depending on “availability”) on bahn.de. The fare is available on most trains in early January, but it’s generally already sold out on trains around Christmas. You might be able to find more specials on the Dutch rail site, http://www.ns.nl/cs It shows more availability of the 39 euro tickets, but it switches away from English on the pages where you actually purchase the ticket.

You might find cheap flights a better deal than the train for this trip. Use www.whichbudget.com to see which budget airlines fly which routes. Just remember to add booking fees, transportation costs to get to and from the airports, taxes and baggage charges into your calculations when comparing to the train. Another option would be the bus: www.eurolines.com

Yes, this is possible (even easy). You might also be able to buy r/t from Amsterdam to Prague, with a stopover in Berlin.

The thing is that those fares are limited, and I am traveling with 2 other people so I need to be sure we can all get that price. I looked at flights and they came out to be around 89 euros. Thats better than the standard fare of around 100 euros though.

What about the train from Prague straight to Amsterdam? I need to take my flight back to the US out of Amsterdam.

The train from Prague to Amsterdam airport takes about 12 hours and requires at least one connection (Berlin). Prague to Amsterdam Centraal station is a few minutes shorter but involves 2 connections. http://reiseauskunft…

They dont seem to show prices. Can anybody possibly give me an estimate as to how much a train ticket from Prague to Amsterdam would be? Thanks.
