ukraine to anywhere, late august
Tue, 04/10/2012 - 06:45
Hi everybody—
I posted here a while back from NYC. Well, now I’m currently living in Ukraine, and looking to take a vacation in late August with a Ukrainian friend. We’d like to go to Spain or Czech Republic, but are open to anywhere that’s the cheapest option. I’ve used Skyscanner, but for some reason, it keeps pointing me back to flights in April when I try to use the flex option. We can fly from Lviv or Kiev—whichever is cheaper.
However, his visa requirements are slightly complicated. Because he doesn’t have a Schengen, he must first acquire one. Some people have talked about the possibility of hopping over to Poland, obtaining the Schengen there, and then traveling onward, while other people have dismissed the idea. Does anybody have any information on the easiest way to get a Schengen for a Ukrainian citizen who has a job? This is far more complicated than I thought. Thanks!
I am leaving from NYC with $2000 for 26 days

Have you thought of taking a train to Krakow for your trip? Lovely city. I liked it almost as much as Prague.

We’ve kind of thought of Krakow, or really anywhere in Poland as the starting point. He’s never been out of Eastern Europe, so this would be the goal.
