US VP predictions
Fri, 06/13/2008 - 09:14
Obama: Bill Richardson
McCain: Joe Lieberman
If Obama “gets out the Hispanic vote” he’ll be in a much safer position in 2 big states—California and Florida. Cali’s probably already a lock, but he needs the swing in Florida.
McCain will pull the surprise move of politics in the last half-century by choosing an independant, and former democrat running mate of Al Gore. McCain’s not in lock-step with the GOP, and this VP choice will clearly communicate that, and bring in swing voters that typically lean Democrat, but like the moderate values that this choice will signal.
Just my predictions … to keep it interesting
.
Yours?

Bill Richardson, imho, is the candidate that Democrats should have backed. But he wasn’t a name brand like Clinton or a “rock star” like Obama. He would be a great fit and would help with the hispanic vote. New Mexico, however, is likely a done deal for Democrats and Richardson will support Obama either way so I don’t see Obama selecting him. Hope I’m wrong though. I’m not a Democrat but Richardson is one of the few politicians I actually like. I think Obama will go with Ed Rendell to help him lock up Pennsylvania (one of the few states where each vote counts) or Wesley Clark. A former military man wouldn’t be a bad option as Obama will be touted as the next Jimmy Carter by Republicans.
Joe Lieberman would be an interesting vp candidate for McCain as the two are good friends and can work together on bi-partisan issues. This would also be a bold move in terms of American politics. I honestly don’t know if a Republican and Democrat have teamed up before. Bold it may be it could also drive away the conservative vote which McCain must have to win the election. My pick for McCain is Mitt Romney.
Just my opinions. I can’t claim to have any real answers.
Lieberman is registered as an Independent Democrat.
I don’t have a prediction. But FWIW, one of my kids felt the same way as Yojimbo about Richardson.
I never know what to think about VP choices. The selection process always feels so brokered, and I am not good with that kind of stuff.
President: R. Kelly Vice Pres: Marcus Vick
If R. Kelly can get away with molesting 12 & 13 yr-olds (yes, more than one) ON VIDEO,,,, he can likely make a great politician. Anything he does gets postponed for a decade, then he gets-off without even a slap on the wrist. He is the new black, younger version of Slick Willie… Except he can sing, and sleeps with girls under 15 to 21…
He and Michael Vick’s Lil bro can double-date girls barely in Jr. High, taking them to Chucky Cheeze, then getting them home by the time the street lights come on. This will save the country money on gas, because they can ride bikes or have the girls parents drive them, etc. These two brain surgeons would then have their entire evenings free to work on Foreign Policy, the budget, immigration, & Military issues, etc.
Marcus can drive on the double dates to the arcade after he gets out of jail, gets his license back, then steals a car, etc.
