Visiting Ambleside Guest Houses

The Area | Visiting Ambleside and the surrounding Area
Ambleside is bang in the middle of the Lake District and a really good jumping off point for anywhere in Cumbria. The Lake District National Park is both an adventure playground for those who love outdoor activities and a dream for those who simply want to tour around and take in the views from their car window.
The Lake District National Park was formed in the early 1950’s, ensuring the North West had a green area where commerce and industry would be restricted.
The mountains [fells] and lakes form a unique landscape that poets [such as Wordsworth] and writers [such as Beatrix Potter] have found their inspiration. Visitors can easily follow in their footsteps through attractions dedicated to them, and others. Or simply wander out of our Ambleside B&B, leave the car and head for the hills.
Grasmere and Windermere are very close by and the popular tourist town of Keswick is only a short drive away from Ambleside guest houses.
