West coast to Europe spring deals? (sp. Spain/portugal)

Hi Guys!
This is most definitely my favorite forum/site when I start thinking of traveling. Last trip you guys helped my friend and I snag 400 dollar tickets from the east coast to Spain to celebrate us graduating medical school. From there we spent an amazing 6 weeks hopping around with trains/planes/boats, you name it, we took it 
Since then, I moved to the west coast and saddened by the prices I’m seeing to get back over the pond. I’m hoping to take a trip on April 27th to May9th and wanted to do andalucia and portugal. The cheapest I’m finding with all my favorite tools is ~900 open jaw on iberia. I’m thinking that’s probably decent?
By the way, the new “nearby” feature on itasoftware is amazing. Kayak buzzer isn’t too bad either. I fiddled with flightfox for a bit too.
Thoughts?

If you enjoy wine, Portugal (and Spain) are for you. When I lived in Portugal in 2010, I was amazed how easy it was to get really nice bottles of red for just 6 or 7 Euros in supermarkets.

Oops, forgot to specify. From SAN. Which usually means vis a vis the others.
Portugal is for sure an underrated gem. Food, wine, people, and sites are amazing— and best of all, not over-trodden with tourists. Last time I quickly ended my trip there so I only did Porto, Lisbon (which quickly became on of my top favorites), and I took a day trip down to Sintra.
Any suggestions Don?
