I am looking for advice on the best/most economical way to get from Dublin to London, the first leg of my trip. We will be travelling in August.

Any other suggestions, based on my itenerary, would also be helpful. I am travelling with one person from (tentatively)

dublin-london-amsterdam-bruges-paris-interlaaken-parma-rome-venice

Thanks!

I am leaving from Raleigh, NC with $4000 for 25 days
Dublin, London, Amsterdam, Bruges, Paris, Interlaken, Parma, Monterosso al Mare, Florence, Rome, Venice, Dublin

Flying will probably both cheapest and fastest from London to Dublin. The train will probably work best for the rest of it.

[this question would be better in our Transport forum]

Looks like $25-$45 currently: http://www.skyscanne… Be sure to look at ALL of the Ryanair costs vs. the cost with Aer Lingus ($35) and BMI ($45) on this route. The latter 2 might not add €6 to use a foreign credit card, might give you a free 20 kg. bag allowance, etc.

  • For the rest of it, LON-AMS try those cities in the Skyscanner link I made for you.
  • Ams-Brug-Par = train.
  • Par-Interlaken… maybe train — check timetables at Bahn.de. There aren’t low-cost flights on Par-Brn (closest commerical airport to Interlaken, 1 hr by train), but there probably are to Basel, Geneva, and Zurich — each about 3-3.5 hrs from Interlaken by train.
  • Int-parma-rom-vce … probably train; see bahn.de for timetables.
  • You can check each country’s national rail site for prices: ns.nl, b-rail.be, sbb.ch, trenitalia.com. For Ams-Belgium, try Thalys.com.
