LeMeridien (5-star) for approx. 400EUR per night.  However, there are plenty of good hotels im Munchen, near the city centre & fest grounds for approx. 180 – 200 EUR per.  All booked-up for 08, staying for free (Starwood pts) this yr.  Thank God; as the Dollar is crap vs. EURO...

Stayed at Hotel Jaedermann, sweet location, about 1/4 mile from the fest. 209 Euro/night.

Hi Mike,

I saw your post about your friends place in Munich for Octoberfest this year.  I’ll be in Munich for the 2nd weekend of the festival (arriving Friday the 26th, leaving Monday the 29th.  Any chance of your friend still having vacancies in that 100 EUR range?  Sounds like a great price to be right in the middle of the action!  Also, is it a hotel or a hostel?

Any other advice pertaining to the festival is also appreciated as it will be my first trip to Octoberfest (and Europe).

Much Appreciated!
Jeff

Just booked beds in the tent hostel.  It may not be much of a place or very close to the center of the city but for 18 euro a night we are gonna be in Munich for the festivities.  Also, if anyone is still trying, they have a few private rooms at 4 you munchen at fairly reasonable prices

4UMuenchen is very close, located across from the Hauptbahnhof.  The Munich.de visitors sight has released a list of affordable options for young folks (Hostels, B&B’s, Pensionen) – so please check it out.
