Now that the 06 Pamps is done and dusted it’s time to focus on 07. Im an aussi 1st time traveller and ever since i was a young lad iv always been facinated with the running of the bulls.
Would love to find all the brave souls in eurotrip that are gona join me on the run! So if your out there drop a post in and we can maybe have ourselves 1 hell of a party.![]()
no regrets…
hey man yeah im moving to london hopefully jan 07 and moving around for a year and abit so i dunno where ill be when its on but if im in europe ill be keen to get drunk and go for a run with some bulls!! lol …
I have 4 buddies and my self that will be there this summer. We are unsure whether we will be there at the begining of the festival or towards the end. maybe ill keep in touch and let you know when everything is set. we are planning on doing an extreame 1 month backpacking like bums. Its more of a thrill.
Myself and two friends will be there for San Fermin and are looking for the thrill of a lifetime which brings us to the sole reason that we are even traveling to Pamplona to begin with. We are all down to run with the bulls and give wicked respect to anyone else who is in for the chase. But everyone keep in touch and happy trails.
Myself and 2 friends plan on going to San Fermin this summer after high school. Do you know the exact dates for the bull runnings this year? If we do go, I’ll hopefully run beside you guys. Respect to all who are running.
Hey all,
I believe that the festival is July 6th to July 14th in 2007. Ill be getting there on the 5th so I can try and suss out the place before all the running and drinking begins.
Past running of the bulls peoples do you know a good pub or meeting place where you can get a crew together before the big run?
Also is anyone else considering doing the statue dive? it looks crazy and im getting nervous.
Till next time… Dale
no regrets…
Forget the running of bulls, overcrowded & overrated. Come down to Consecon for the running of the sheep! Less people, less danger & just as much booze
Hey – we have confirmed plans to be in Pamplona for the run July 9-12… let me know if anyone is gonna meet up! We are a group of 2, possibly 4 takin a month long packing trip… continuing on to Barcelona, Rome, Venice – many other stops b4 finishing in Amsterdam mid-August. Hope to hear from you!
Hey All!!!
You might want to consider a side trip to San Sebastian after the running of the bulls – only around an hour or so from Pamps. Great beahces, and good night life. Last year, I did it, and caught a bus from San Seb to Barcelona – was only 26 euros for a 7 hour journey.
me and my brother will soo be there, im not really scared of the bulls ive done plenty more dangerous stuff
i wish i could be there this year, but im going in 08. So when you go please tell all of us how it was!
I arrive on July 7th and am leaving on the 11th. Count this newbe in !!!
I need to know where all the party places are and what should I bring?
Larry
Party places… anywhere out on the street. Just buy a leather wine bag, fill it up with some sangria and just party in the streets. There is always live music or a parade or something the keep you entertained.
San sebastian is definately worth checking out, but hard to find a room unless you know someone or book ahead.
And i wasnt scared of the bulls either, until i saw them the day before the run. They are just a ton of solid muscle, don’t get cocky in there or you will get hurt.
Try to check out the bullfight after the run, tickets will most likely be sold out, but you can always haggle with scalpers. If you wait until the last minute, they are desperate to sell tickets for whatever they can get for them.
running of the bulls? hell yeah im on a eurotrip this summer ill see if i cant swing by and run with you guys!
how fast these bulls gonna be running? haha
knowing my luck i will probably get flipped by one
Heya all,
Don’t worry about getting flipped unless you some how stay concious haha, that could hurt some. Ill hopefully not get crunched but i’v got travel insurance till about the 15th of july so even if i do im saved by that.
How fast are they running you ask? If you can run at a decent speed and your not really fat then you should be able to keep up with the pace and even go quicker then the bulls but thats in an ideal senario, most likely there will be people in front of you not going quick enough and youll have to start jumpin over their bodies haha.
Does any one know where I could pre book a cheap place for the event? I would love to find some where to crash for a few hours at night when not partying.
no regrets…
this sounds intense i cant wait! running of the bulls 07 here i come!!
I’ll be there for at least the 9th-11th as teh starting point for my 3 weeks in spain and morocco…anyone have advice for accomodations?
man this sounds insane. the week long party alone is worth going to. but im goin 08 for sure! i have a bull at my house so im gnona go practice with him hhaha. and whoever said to run with the sheep is a pussy…running with the bulls is a true test of one’s manhood.
Count this Canadian in. I’ll be getting in late on the 5th. The 6th will be total debauchery. I hear the openning ceremonies are insane! After that I’ll party all night, run with the bulls on the 7th and be out that night to do some more travelling.
Can anyone say GONG SHOW!
I’ll definitely be in the run. Can’t wait!! I was wondering how do females do in the run. I’m a male myself but my friend is coming and shes a badass and actually interested. Are they allowed to run and do a lot of females run, basically whats the deal?
I ran in 04….. amazing times. Working on getting a few friends to go over with me this year for it again.
Nothing out of the ordinary to expect. (unless you find a huge drunken party or the streets that smell like beer and urine strange)
Be cautious of pickpockets and people trying to scam you for the usual things you see everywhere. There is lockers at the train station. I locked my stuff up and just took my sleeping bag with me down town and stashed it in the bushes out side the wall in the park. There are plenty of people camping out down there with cops walking around checking up on things.
When they start cleaning the streets (2 or 3 times a day) stay out of their way. They won’t think twice about blasting you with the hose.
All and all it will be the best days of your trip through Europe.
Where is this running of the sheep you speek of???? may end up being too many Welsh people there to take advantage of the poor lambs but all and all could make for something to see.
Hey me and two friends are up for it! What day is the actual running of the bulls on? How early do you think we need to book places to stay? Im up for meeting up with people for a pre run drink
I’m in for sure dude.
lol everytime i return to this forum i get shivers down my spine with anticipation. Just thinking of hitting the grog for 5 days straight makes my mouth water. Im gona be rocking up around the 8th. Gona miss the opening ceremony cause im in Egypt but from what that running of the bulls website guys say supposedly the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th is the best time to go and run, you skip all the hype and get into actual partying/meaning of it. I didnt quote that but thats the jist i got. Thanks for the suggestion about the sleeping bag, cant b stuffed finding a hostel. Ill just get washed by the cleaners with there hoses ahahaha. Ill be the richest bum there ever was!
See you all very soon. its getting closer you know!
no regrets…
Me and a friend will definitely be there. We are there the 9-11th. SOOOOOOO excited for this!
And the icing on the cake: we booked our hotel while the ICH Hotels reservation system had a glitch and got a room at the brand new Pamplona Holiday Inn Express for only 65 euro a night (the next day they fixed the price to 214 euro a night) .... divide that by two and its only the price of a nice hostel!!!
divide that by 4 and you got urself 2 aussies who will party it up with you haha! plus u save urself cash. let me know
. Im willing to sleep on the carpet lol.
no regrets…
dale- quite the proposition, ill have to check into it with my buddy, but ill definitely PM you a response in the next couple days. And just out of curiosity, what are your ages?
I also have a place at the Holiday Inn Express for the 9th and 10th. Didnt get the glitch rate, but have the hookup with an employee rate, just as good!! Cant wait to party out there, although I hear it may be a pain getting from the main area back to the hotel…but I dont mind stumbling around for a few miles
Good to hear Mrosen85, our stays overlap so maybe we can figure out the spanish transit system and do some partying together. I read that there are buses running constantly and all over the place during San Fermin so it isnt hard to get around, and that hotel is only like 4km from city center.
Would be tops if we could stay cause at the moment we dont have a place booked.
Im 19 and my friend is 18. The ages might look young but we are very respectfull and would leave the place in a better condition then we came.
Thanks mate.
no regrets…
haha not to worry dale, my buddy and I are the exact same ages! thats promising news. i am still waiting to talk with him, but i will let you know.
haha what luck! Where are you 2 from? We are from Canberra, Australia. Yea just let me know when ever you can, fingers crossed.
Cya mate
no regrets…
i am also looking for a place to crash while i am there…advice?
we are two candian students, both 24, who’ve travelled through spain before but were never able to see Pamplona and it’s extravagnt craziness. The hostels and Hotels are WAY out of our sad budgets,
do pamplonians offer rooms in thier homes?
how does one get in contact with them??
HELP
Desperate to go but nowhere to stay![&:]
I’m also interested in going to pamplona this summer, I hear that many people just sleep outside at the parks since everything is so packed, though it would be nice to find somewhere to sleep. I’d like to meet anyone who is going to be there my email is breogam@gmail.com
I’ll be there during the first half and very possibly the entire week of the Festival. I’ll be in Madrid or Barcelona beforehand with the hopes of picking up fellow travelors to camp out with once I get to Pamplona. I’m heading to France for Bastille Day (July 14th) and to catch a leg of the Tour de France after the Festival.
If people are interested I’ll be in Europe from the end of June to the end of July/beginning of August. I’m my own ultimate sport trip—Wimbledon, Running of the Bulls, Tour de France (beginning, middle, end) and the British Open. I’m hoping to catch a soccer/rugby/cricket/polo/any other sport match as well in between. I’ll primarily be in the UK, France and Spain. Can’t say I won’t be hard to convince to head elsewhere…
I cannot wait to get over there. Ole!
Hi DC man hehe,
lus my favourite racer Robbie McEwen might have a chance of taking out a few legs as they are flat legs. (His a sprinter who won the green gersey last year – And is an aussi!!!)
Me and my mate will also be going to the Tour de france after the bulls 2. We will head to about 3 legs i hope around the pironese (or however you spell it). I think there the mountins at the very south of France near “Nice” and continue on towards Spain. These legs are the most convienent cause there so dam close
If your thinking of going to watch thoes legs it would be fun to catch up for a few drinks! Ill also be going to the Rugby World Cup hopefully if the tickets arnt to expencive. Where abouts is the Bastille Day and what goes on there. Iv herd of it. I wouldnt mind going to as many festivals as posible.
Love the Ole!
no regrets…
I’ll be heading to one of the legs either in the central/southeastern parts of France, more likely Bourg-en-Bresse to Le Grand-Bornand leg. I want to be in Scotland around the 16th/17th. Bastille Day is France’s Independence Day on the 14th. I’ll celebrate it whereever I end up.
Unfortunately the Rugby World Cup doesn’t start til September so I can’t make it (yeah, I’ve already checked into it.)
I’m definitely all about getting people to join me, even if for drinks.
In peoples’ opinions how many days is it worth to stay in Pamplona? I’m debating if I should get there for the start and cut out in the middle, or just do a few days in the middle. Anyone going to be in Madrid or Barcelona beforehand?
Hey guys. I will be staying there for most of the whole trip. From what i have heard you can camp out in the park, and lock your stuff up in the train station. Does anyone have details on how that works? I am also looking to meet up with people while I am there. One of the nights however, i decided to rent a motel room in San Sebastian. Already have a room booked at the Barcelo Costa Vasca in San Sebastian for the night of the 10th, so I can get cleaned up since the rest of the nights I will be camping out. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in crashing with me that night?
I“m planning on going with a friend. Any ideas on where to stay? I see on some sights that you can just crash in one of the parks if all else fails. Any suggestions?
I’m just gonna show up in Madrid and find my way to Pamplona. I don’t speak any Spanish and have never been there before. IT seems like a lot of accomodations are booked for Pamplona. Is this realistic or unsafe?
they run the bulls every morning of the festival. here’s a good website...
it’s the official site of the festival. lots of good info.
Im going to be travelling to Pamplona from Barcelona around the 8th (maybe earlier). If anyone already has accomodations and wants to knock the price down I would be happy to split the cost of a room. And I dont mind sleeping on the floor. Im 26 and going to be in Europe for about a month. Feel free to contact me via email at golfermike@gmail.com
Thanks and looking forward to seeing alot of you there.
FYI:
I’ve been talking w/some locals and the word on the street is that if you plan on bussing to Pamplona, you should get a ticket now, b/c they sell out fast closer to the festival. Also, it seems that the lockers at the train station could go pretty quick, but I think there are other places around town to store a bag if the train station is full. No word on how important it is to get a train ticket in advance.
It looks like I’ll be there for the start of the Festival. I’ll bus from Barcelona on the 5th and I’ll be staying for 2-3 days at least.
I’m f-ing there. my friend is a little hesitant about commiting to the run but how can you pass up a chance to run down a street with bulls just like
eople have done every year since i don’t even know when. it should be amazing. plus the party afterwards!
Hey everyone,
This will be my first time in Spain and in the festival so I’m hoping to find some veterans to join me for the running. I’m a native Spanish speaker so I can help out with the language barrier if anyone needs it. Please contact me directly. Thanks and see you there!
hey yall im doin the whole hostel thing round europe by myself this summer since my friend bailed at the last sec and i cannot wait to see the running of the bulls i hear its amazing! not quite sure when im getting in or where im staying, im really playin the whole summer by ear..any suggestions?
Hi,
If anybody is still looking for somewhere to saty we have got some cheap spaces for the dates of the 8th,9th,10th and 11th. Some of them are very realistic prices. If anybody is interested just email bullrunners@hotmail.co.uk
Hi,
I meant a cheap place to stay, we have got a couple of apartments right in the heart of the action, a few mins away from the bullrun.
