Heyyy everyone, I’m new at this so if i posted this in the wrong place or whatever i apologise.
ANYYYWAYSSS...
My Friend and i are backpacking this year around europe, starting in England.
We leave Auz on the 26th of September and Return on the 17th of Jan ’09.
We don’t have/want to plan anything too far before we actually arrive there as we have decided to wing it as part of the experience. But we are aware of planning the Hostels we stay at, about 3 – 4 days in advance.
This IS our first time backpacking and we are going during winter. Will this effect our trip in anyway? What are any pro’s or cons about going during the time we are..
Any advice or tips would be HUGELY appreciated!!
Peaceee xx

Gabzzz,
I too am planning a winter trip through Europe, and it will be my first time! I would recommend researching the potential countries that you would like to see, and what the climate is like during that time! I am from sunny California, USA and will land in Holland on 07-Jan-2009.
Site/Attractions:
Pros: Not as many tourist so you can see some sites with out lines
Cons: Some sites/attractions are not open
Tip[s]: Dont know where in the world you are from… but I would recommend dressing in layers! Also I dont know if you have to worry about advance booking of Hostel’s since you are traveling in the “Off Season”
Best Regards & Safe Journey!
