I am leaving to study abroad for a year in Spain and have a ton of questions. My biggest problem is that I have an 8 hour layover in London during the day and then will arrive at 11 pm in Madrid which is 8 hours ahead of my group. Any suggestions what to do in Madrid at that hour for the night? I will have all my bags for the year and am hesitant about leaving the airport but have a feeling I am going to need the sleep. Should I not leave the airport? Are lockers nearby for my bags? Is this a sketchy situation?

Other issues are what to do about an eurorail pass. I don’t need one for the whole year but I do need one for many weekends.
Packing and money is going to also be an issue but really my plane flight is my big issue……
