Don, i’m looking for these flights for around 08/05/07 until 08/16/07.

I’m also willing to get a round trip ticket from YHZ-BUD if it’s significantly cheaper. The cheapest i’ve found so far is in combo with AirCanada and Lufthansa at around $1000 CAD. I don’t want to fly into London etc., and then conect to a budget airline. Since this will be a relatively short trip, I want to maximize the time I have and fly direct on a major airline.

Do you think this will get much cheaper? I was thinking of really searching in January, hoping it might drop a bit.

The cheapest i’ve seen is on ITA, but then when I go the the AirCan or Luft site, I don’t get the same price.

Thanks for any help!

Of course there’s no telling what might happen, although so far as I know, Halifax is not exactly a hotbed of airfare sales. But I can’t imagine there’s any harm waiting until at least January and looking at more options when your flight is in August.

You need to look at sites that use the ITA booking engine, and these include:
http://www.zuji.com….
http://www.traveloci…
http://www.orbitz.co…

It sounds like we might be in Romania around the same time!

1000 cdn for your itin is actually very good. check www.zoom.ca www.canadian-affair…. and www.airtransat.ca also Icelandair is set to re-start at Halifax in Spring, www.icelandair.com but I don’t think any of these serve Budapest and Bucharest (that’s OTP?) but might able to piece something together with them via UK or Germany.

Have you looked at NWA’s or other major carriers’ add-on options? These don’t often work-out to be the cheapest option, but I had a trip that involved Kharkiv, Ukraine and Bucharest. The cheapest ticket proved to be R/T NWA to Amsterdam and then taking advantage of a relatively cheap add-on package for Amsterdam-Vienna-Kharkiv-Vienna-Bucharest-Amsterdam with NWA and their partner European airlines.

I know Halifax isn’t the greatest, but my real home airport is YYG. YHZ is significantly cheaper, so it’s worth the 3.5 hr drive.

Thanks for those links traveller. Let me know if you are gonna be in the area early August.

I thought it wasn’t a bad price too, but a little lower would be great. Even if it ends up costing me a bit more, i’d love to fly the whole way on Star Alliance. Air Canada and Lufthansa seems to always be the cheapest option.

From those links traveller, I found the same prive on travelocity, but the other 2 sites were much higher than what ITA found.
