Public Transport: About every 25-30 minutes there's a connection by bus, Schnellbahn S 7 (suburban train), or the CAT (City Airport Train) to train station Wien Mitte/Landstraße. Prices are between € 6,- und € 9,- per person for the transfer, which takes between 16 (with CAT) and 30 minutes.
At Wien Mitte/Landstraße there's a direct connection with underground line U4 (direction: Hütteldorf): two stops to Karlsplatz station, or three to Kettenbrückengasse. The price of a regular one-way Vienna underground ticket is € 1.70 - 2.20 per person. Getting off at station U4 Kettenbrückengasse, after walking approx. 300 m along the Naschmarkt market downtown, to the right Schikanedergasse is intersecting (there's even a sign at the corner saying “Carlton Opera Hotel”). Following the Schikanedergasse 200 m takes one directly to the hotel. Walking time from the underground station is 5 min, to get there from the airport takes approx. 1 hour.
It may be more economical to get a pick-up from the airport, which we can organize for you. The trip by taxi directly to the hotel will take about 30 min. The cost will be € 39,- for up to 3-4 persons with little baggage. A pick-up by station-wagon (if you have more luggage), or by mini-bus for up to 8 persons is € 42 - 62.-
From train stations
From the Western train station (Westbahnhof) take underground line U6 - direction Siebenhirten - and go 2 stations to Längenfeldgasse. Switch lines and take the U4, direction “Heiligenstadt”. Get off at third stop Kettenbrückengasse station. The last meters from there to the hotel have been described two paragraphs earlier
From the Southern train station (Südbahnhof) approx. 500 m by foot to underground line U1 (direction: Zentrum Kagran). Get off at second stop Karlsplatz. Walking time from there is about 7 min: take the exit “Wiedner Hauptstraße”, which takes you directly to the New Technical University building. At this point cross over right to the next parallel street, the Operngasse. Follow the Operngasse (to the left) for about 400 m until “Schikanederkino” cinema. The hotel is around the corner from there, about 50 m into Schikanedergasse.

Parking garage lots are € 18 a day. On weekdays all inner districts of Vienna are limited parking zone from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. However, with one of the hotel parking cards available at the reception desk parking on the street is possible for a cheap € 8 per day. On weekends and overnight parking on the street is free.
