Split, the second largest city in Croatia, is the capital of Dalmatia.

The old town is built around the harbor. Ferries to nearby islands Solta, Brac, Hvar and Vis, are continuously coming and going. The western end of the peninsula is a vast wooded mountain park with its famous Marjan hill.
