Thorney How is a three-star quality independent hostel in Grasmere, the heart of the Lake District. Accommodation is split between our main house beds sold with a breakfast included and the bunk house accommodation which is in a separate block from our main house with it's own unisex shower and toilet facilities. Thorney how is in a rural setting surrounded by magnificent fells, adjacent to the Coast to Coast path, local Grasmere village amenities and lake, the perfect place from which to explore everything Lakeland has to offer. We have cats, ducks, hens and sheep. If you are lucky you may also see deer and red squirrels. Expect narrow country lanes, dark nights and a quiet environment - 15 minutes walk away from the centre of the village. A 6 bedded mixed dorm is available in the main house, the rate includes a basic breakfast. Bunk house beds are generally sold self-catered with the option to purchase breakfasts. Users of the bunk house will be able to access all our other main house facilities such as dining room / bar / lounge / self catering kitchen / drying room / free wifi etc. All bedding is provided. You will need to bring your own towel, or you can hire this for an additional charge. Once your booking has been confirmed you can additionally order breakfast, lunch or evening meals. We prefer evening meals to be ordered in advance of arrival. We also have film nights, mountain bike hire and electric car charging points - see our website for details. Experience our tranquil setting with easy access to magnificent scenery, mountain walks, cycling and the cultural centre of Grasmere. Bike hire is available for £15 per day.
