Igloo Backpackers Hostel and the Igloo Annexe ('Best New Venture 2011' short-list nominee for the 'Nottingham Stars Awards') offering private rooms, are proud to be the city's original and most popular quality budget stop for backpackers, tourists, weekenders and overseas job-seekers. Set up in 1994, the city center hostel is run by helpful and experienced backpackers and over the years we have welcomed close to 60,000 people from all over the world. The Igloo has now gone even 'greener' - we recycle most of our waste, are energy and water aware and all our cleaning products, soaps etc are Eco-friendly. We are very proud to have been awarded 3 STARS by 'Enjoy England Tourism Board' 2009-2013. Hostelbookers Customer Service Award winners August 2012 :) Located in an historic Victorian building, we are surrounded by shops, pubs, eat-ins and take-outs, sights and sounds plus and food shopping including a 24 hour supermarket. Centrally located, we are only 8-10 minutes by foot from the town square. There is on-street parking for those of you traveling by car - free from 20.00 - 08.00. If you are looking for a place to spend the summer to work, learn English etc, we offer a weekly rate* and have lots of information on work etc around. If you are just on the tourism trail for a night or 2, we will provide you with a free map, information and leaflets on sights so you know your way around. The city also offers lots of great live music, cultural events and of course Mr. Robin Hood! Open all day all year until 3 a.m., the Igloo offers no chores or heavy rules - just a chance to meet some friendly people and get a good night's sleep at the end of an active day. If you are ever in town, pay us a visit! Check-in is available from 11.00 am - 01.00 am - you can use all other facilities from 12 a.m. – rooms are ready no later than 15.00. All beds will be charged if cancelled less than 72hr prior to arrival Photo-ID required for check-in (passport, drivers license or ID card)
