Situated in a traditional Cretan village on the coast of the southeastern Crete. The village is long built across the beach and there are many wonderful and lonely beaches around it.

The main beach is full of people in the summer time and there are water sports, bars, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets & souvenir shops.

The nature around is beautiful with the southern Cretan sea and the mountainside and the natural forest on the north. There are daily boat trips from Makrygialos to a small island called Koufonisi, that gives you the opportunity to escape in the real Cretan nature. You can also have the possibility to visit three traditional Cretan villages near and two archeological places in the village (the Minoan and the Greek Roman villa).
