Take the A1 motorway and turn off at the junction signposted to Orvieto. After the pay-toll turn right (signposted to Orvieto - SS71 - Montefiascone - Orbetello - SS74 Maremmana - SS2 Cassia – Acquapendente)
At the roundabout take the 3rd exit (signposted to Montefiascone – Acquapendente) and continue on the SS71 to the junction (on the right) signposted to Bolsena - Acquapendente
Continue on the SS71 to San Lorenzo Nuovo. At the traffic lights, turn right on the SS2 Cassia (signposted to Acquapendente). Continue to Acquapendente.
Once in town, on your left, you will see a small supermarket, and immediately after that, a small open space named “Piazza Avv. Nazzareno Costantini” with a building-materials warehouse. Between the supermarket and the warehouse, from the Piazza, a small dirt road starts. This road, named “Strada Vicinale Montepetrocco” heads straight to the Agriturismo Il Sentiero.
Via Cassia
- Coming from Rome, after San Lorenzo Nuovo, follow the directions for those coming from the motorway.
- Coming from the North, enter Acquapendente and continue till you see a tower on your right (Monte Rufeno Park Information Office). Immediately after the tower, from a small open space named “Piazza Avv. Nazzareno Costantini”, a small dirt road starts. This road, named “Strada Vicinale Montepetrocco” heads straight to the Agriturismo Il Sentiero.

The nearest train station to the Agriturismo Il Sentiero is Orvieto.

Though not near, Rome (Fiumicino) - Leonardo da Vinci airport is connected with a train service with the Orte station (journey time approximately 2 hours).

Acquapendente, province of Viterbo, in the Tuscia Laziale, borders Tuscany and Umbria in a strategic position for visiting Orvieto, Bolsena, Pitigliano, Mount Amiata, San Casciano dei Bagni, Viterbo, Mount Rufeno Natural Reserve, or one of the many other beautiful villages and towns in the area.
Agriturismo Il Sentiero is therefore a convenient base for exploring this part of the country with history going back to ancient and medieval times.
Situated on an 8 acre organic working farm, Agriturismo Il Sentiero offers excellent accommodation in a tranquil rural setting. The house stands in beautiful parkland, all of which our guests may enjoy.
The main house is beautifully restored and offers all modern comforts in a traditional setting.
The rooms (double, twin or triple), all with separate entry from the yard and en suite bathroom, are tastefully furnished and offer all the comforts of a superior category hotel (tea and coffee facility, air conditioning, hair dryer, top quality power showers, daily cleaning, towels and courtesy kit).
Combining two adjoining rooms, you can obtain comfortable self catered (on request) suites for 4/5/6 persons.
Self catered studios are available too.
Courtesy kits, bed linen and bath towels are provided and a welcome pack includes milk, tea, coffee, sugar, bread, jam and cereals.
Continental breakfast is served with a wide range of homemade and vegetarian products. Wherever possible we try to use our own homemade products like biscuits, cakes, jams and marmalades and home grown fruit and vegetables. Local products as cheese and ham are always available for breakfast.
Enjoy your breakfast in the dining room or outside in the garden.
Breakfast is served at a time to suit you, which can be arranged on arrival and changed on a daily basis to your own special requirements - let us know if you need to eat and run.
Lunch (on request)
Normally, we have a light lunch, such as pasta, salad or vegetables and fresh fruit. Please, let us know, during breakfast, if you want to have lunch with us.
Packed lunches are prepared and can be arranged on arrival.
Dinner (on request)
Dinner is the most substantial meal: appetizer, first course, main course and fruit are always available. If you have any particular need, do not hesitate to ask before booking.
If you want to have dinner with us, menu can be chosen during breakfast.
Agriturismo Il Sentiero is a 200 year old house placed on a hill slope so it may not be suitable for some people depending on the level of disability. We have prepared a room suitably equipped for the disabled but please email us or phone if you have any questions or concerns.
Amendments are subjected to availability
If you amend your booking 8 days or more before check in date: if your amendment reduces the number of nights booked, no fee will be charged.
If you amend your booking 7 days before check in date: if your amendment reduces the number of nights booked, we will charge you 1 room night for each room booked.
Our cancellation and amendment policy will apply only once your booking is confirmed. A confirmed booking is when we have advised you that the hotel room is available and you have secured your room reservation by providing us with your credit card details or by arranging a money transfer.
