Crottone Guest House
In the hills above Dongo there is the Trattoria Crottone, historic wine cellar or cave that dates back to the fifteenth century. where they always kept the good wine and typical local cheeses such as semuda, salami and local baloney in a natural constant temperature of 7-8 ° C. Since farmers have always produced, stored and then consumed together on holidays and this tradition has always been handed down until today. For nearly 200 years the Riella’s family manages this crotto offering their customers in a terrace with scenic view or in the living room with chimney typical dishes such as cold sliced meats with local cured meats (cold cuts), followed by homemade first dishes, then the polenta uncia (made with butter, cheese and garlic) or taragna (mixed with butter and cheese) followed by barbeque made on stone grill or wild enisonor wild boar of braised or of beef and all followed by good local wine. End with the sweetness of braschino (typical dessert) or liqueurs.
