Sourrounded by greenery, at only 10 minutes from the city centre, rooms for all tastes and for all budgets. A site where meeting people from all over the world, a staff attentive and friendly, OstellOlinda is waiting for you! A unique place for his history and for his social engagement. A green oasis in the city near the centre where it is possible to be born again into the nature. A spot of countryside where you can meet nature, music, art and performing arts as concerts, theatre, street art and social integration. A place where you breathe culture and an ethical place where respect is granted, where the human being is at the centre of cultural, ecological and sustainable projects. Besides the hostel stands our Bar Restaurant Jodok that offers organic cuisine, catering and every Thursday from September until June free gigs in the open air or indoor with a tasty and affordable Happy Hour with buffet. In the Park stands the “Il Teatro La Cucina” where often are shown Avangarde theatre dramas, classic theatre and cultural events indoor and outdoor. The top of the cultural offer of Olinda is the Festival “Da vicino nessuno è normale” that takes place since 1995 during the months of June and July. The organization of cultural events( music, performing arts etc.) has distinguished through the years the activity of OstellOlinda as housing solutions provider for theatre companies, directors, actors, mimes and clowns who worked for Olinda or for other Festivals in Milan. Through the years have worked and supported La Fabbrica di Olinda a variety of actors and singers. Among them we would like to remember: Marco Paolini, Lella Costa, Max Gazzé, Stefano Benni, Antonio Rezza, Radiodervish, Moni Ovadia, Banda Osiris, Alice, Sud Sound System, Ascanio Celestini, Pacifico, Vinicio Capossela, Caparezza, Filippo Timi, Patch Adams, etc... In the Park is found a Contemporary art Museum with Exibitions, indoor Laboratories and outdoor sculptures. Moreover in the Park there are a “Fragances garden”, a green house and laboured fields and small animals farm. A green lung where you can walk and have a promenade in the nature. Different activities, meetings, parties and conferences are organized in the Park to preserve the greenery from the urban development, held by associations connected with Olinda: “Il Giardino degli Aromi” and“ I seminatori di Urbanità”. For sport fans, outer the activities organized in the Park, it is possible to join by walk the sport village, Quanta Village, that offers swimming pools, tennis courts, soccer fields, beach volley’s courts, roller tracks and fitness clubs etc. We believe in the concept of hospitality, intended as an integration tool. Hospitality works as a role regenerator of opportunity, sociability and liberty, it leads naturally to trigger processes of social integration because the visibility is one of the major elements. We are searching to promote exchanges with the outside world of people coming from the world of mental health with the aim of creating habilitation. Carrying forward a project of differentiated hospitality means that some people suffering from mental health problems have fond here their residence, the staff’s support and opportunity of relationship. At the same time our customers find hostel hospitality centered on the quality of service and on the relationships inside a completely unusual urban setting for the city of Milan. During the nineties, while we were working at the closure of the former psychiatric hospital, we hosted in the former nurses dormitory, where lived some patients of the Paolo Pini, the first European volunteers who were interested in the first projects of the social firm Olinda. This combination of finding accommodation between outsiders and insiders not only worked well but convinced us to transform the former nurses dormitory into a hostel accommodation project.
