Orta San Giulio's Hotel Santa Caterina serves as an ideal base for independent travellers - there is a relaxed, informal atmosphere here and guests can choose between superior, green superior and family rooms. The hotel is surrounded by pretty gardens leading down to a quiet path: this offers spectacular panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountain scenery. A generous buffet breakfast is included in the room rate and this includes both hot and cold dishes as well as fresh fruit. The hotel also has a bar and a 'snack corner' which is open to guests between 3pm and 7pm. Service on the front desk is friendly and professional, and here guests will find an internet point, bicycle hire, babysitting services and a laundry and dry cleaning service. There is plenty of tourist information available including maps of local walks. Parking is free for guests and quiet, well-behaved pets are welcome. Guests can leave their car in the hotel garage which costs 8 euro per day. The Hotel garage has limited places (so it is necessary to book a place in advance), but even if it is fully booked, the hotel owns a free parking just 300 meters from the building. If cancelled or modified up to 5 days before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. Pets are accepted upon request. Small dogs can stay for free while medium sized dogs pay 10.00 Euro per day.
