Palazzo Rosenthal Vesuview Hotel & Resort

Oplontis
The archaeological site of Oplontis is distant 3 km from the Palazzo Rosenthal; it is in the heart of the modern town of Torre Annunziata.
The name Oplontis is certificated only in Tabula Peutingeriana, a medieval copy of an ancient map of the existing roads in Italy during the Roman Empire. In this paper the name indicates Oplontis some structures positioned between Pompeii and Herculaneum.
The main monument is villa Poppea, in which, alongside numerous bodies of victims the eruption was found a considerable quantity of gold coins and silver, along with numerous pieces of fine gold.
The villa di Poppea was included in the assets that UNESCO has called "Heritage" grandiose building residential half of the first century BC. The villa is attributed to Poppaea Sabina, the second wife of Nerone.
Pompei
The Palazzo Rosenthal is distant 5 km from Pompeii ruins.
Buried under a blanket of ash and lapillus high about 6 meters, the ancient city of Pompeii, destroyed up by the 79 AD, was again in the light thanks to the campaign of excavations undertaken by the will of Charles of Bourbon, King of the Two Sicilies, in 1748. The archaeological site occupies an area of 44 hectares and is characterized by a remarkable state of preservation of buildings. In 1200 Federico II of Svevia used this spot as a royal hunting reserve called "Sylva Mala". In 1500 the first rural houses of Trecase were built, this name is because People had to pay taxes to three female monasteries, St. Chiara, St. Maria Egiziaca e St. Maria Maddalena. Nowadays, Trecase is a little town located at the foot of Vesuvius which dominates on it in unique scenery. Nowadays, Trecase produces some famous wines as Lacryma Christi doc, Caprettone, and Falanghina, besides to the delicious apricots. Very good cooking of restaurants and Hotels.

Is set at the foot of Vesuvius.
Vesuvius is 1281 meters high and is located slightly inside the coast of the Gulf of Naples.
The volcano is a particularly interesting for its history and the frequency of its eruptions.
Vesuvius is a glance of unusual beauty in view of the gulf, especially if seen from the sea with the city in the background. A famous picture postcard taken from the Posillipo hill has brought in the collective right of the city of Naples, although by the locals is considered a stereotype like the famous sun-sea-mandolin.
