From Piazzale Roma, Venice car terminals:
It's necessary to park the car at Piazzale Roma, where there are two big carparks: 'Garage Comunale' and 'Garage San Marco' in Piazzale Roma terminal.
From the terminals you can either catch a private taxi boat to Locanda Barbarigo or take the public boat transport ACTV line n. 1 (direction to «San Marco») and get off at stop 'Santa Maria del Giglio', you reach Campo Santa Maria del Giglio, turn left and always keeping the left side cross the bridge and you will reach the 'Fondamenta Duodo/Barbarigo', where our Locanda is situated, (2503/A).
From 'Santa Lucia', Venice train station:
Out of the train station you take the public boat transport ACTV line n. 1 and get off at the stop 'Santa Maria del Giglio'. From there to reach the Locanda Barbarigo, see the above information.
From 'Marco Polo' International Airport Venice
Outside of the arrivals area take a bus shuttle to the dock. From there you can take a private taxi to the Locanda Barbarigo and arrive in front of it. There is also a direct public shuttle transport 'ALILAGUNA' from the Airport to the historical centre of the city that takes about 1hr and 10 minutes you get off at San Marco, Calle Vallaresso stop. From there you can take the public boat transport ACTV line n.1 (direction to 'Piazzale Roma') and get off at the stop 'Santa Maria del Giglio'. From there to reach the Locanda Barbarigo, see the above information. You can also walk from San Marco to our Locanda. You will walk along one of the most famous fashion street of Venice, called Calle XXII Marzo. At the end of this street, cross the bridge and you will reach Campo 'Santa Maria del Giglio'. Once you are there go straight on and keeping the left side, cross the next bridge turn on the left and you will find the 'Fondamenta Duodo/Barbarigo' where our Locanda is situated, (2503/A).

It is located in a quiet and evocative area very close to San Marco Square, 'La Fenice' Theatre and Calle 22 Marzo, one of the most elegant shopping streets of Venice.

The Palace is made up of two floors: a large staircase takes you from the ground floor, with a small and nice reception, to a noble second floor where all the beautiful rooms are situated. Breakfast is served in this charming old Venetian atmosphere.
History:
Finely restored Locanda Barbarigo has been obtained by a part of the namesake, ancient and noble 'Palazzo Barbarigo' that used to belong to the Barbarigo’s Family.
The name 'Barbarigo' is most probably derived from the Arrigo family who won the war against the Saraceni in IX century.
He cut his beard and made a crown, here is the origin of this word: barba, beard, of Arrigo: BARBARIGO. In the X century the Barbarigo, together with the Jubania, built the Church of Santa Maria del Giglio.
The Family had two Bishops, one Patriarch and three Cardinale. One them was Gregorio Giovanni Barbarigo who was born exactly in the same Fondamenta where the Locanda itself is located, (called Fondamenta Duodo/Barbarigo).
