WINNER: '2007 Best Tourism Initiative, Derry City Council Business Awards' 'Clean, central, friendly, fun, with a sunny garden!' - Lonely Planet ......................... For 10 great years, our Hostel has provided a 'LegenDerry' city-centre base for our welcome guests. We are know throughout the tourism industry as THE award-winning, fun & quality hostel located right in the city centre. Our hostel is in a beautiful Georgian Townhouse that was built in 1832 as the home for the Warden-Doctor of the Londonderry Lunatic Asylum! In 2012 we fully renovated our property with new showers & modern kitchen. We also carefully restored the most popular feature of our hostel - the glorious 'common room', which boasts a welcoming fireplace, a grand piano and the most comfortable sofas in the country! A Perfect chill-out zone for individuals & groups. Group dinner every night where staff and guests eat together at our glorious Irish-Oak dining table doing what backapckers should do more - cook and eat a meal with new international friends! Only £2.50 per person, meal is served EVERY night at 7pm. Save Money, have fun, yum-yum. - comfortable, clean beds (many rooms ensuite) - safe & secure location (security lockers for guests) - FREE WiFI & Internet, FREE Tea/Coffee, FREE Breakfast, FREE Parking - laundry facilities - a heated & covered-patio area for BBQs & outdoor dining Our lovely hostel was founded 10 years ago by 2 of Ireland's best-known backpackers: - Steve McPhilemy & Charlie O'Connell. Steve has organized walking tours of our historic city-walls since 1996 and Charlie founded Paddywagon tours after driving safaris in South Africa. We take great pride in ensuring our guests have an excellent experience. LOCATION: We have lots of FREE parking and are only a 5-10 minutes walk or a 2-minute taxi-ride from the Bus-Station, we are adjacent to the Police Station and literally round the corner from all the main shops, pubs & restaurants. At our hostel we want you to love our city as much as we do. Is miss le mesa ('from me to you with respect' in Irish/Gaelic) Steve McPhilemy… … and my local & international hostel-team NOTE: NO Stag/Hen parties. These bookings will NOT be honoured. Groups of 6 or more from the UK or Ireland MUST email the hostel directly.
