With your feet on the ground, find a way of getting to Mértola - why not go by canoe down the Guadiana River and get to know the Guadiana valley nature reserve? - To Monsaraz and to Serpa. The best thing to do is to come for a few days, with plenty of time, so you can enjoy it all at your own pace.
