Mara Hostel Brasov
Hostel Mara is situated exactly in The Council Square, a big square in the heart of the old German city. In some places it is still surrounded by the original walls of the old city. The square is surrounded by shops, cafes and restaurants. Puddlers and strolling musicians give life and colour to the square.
Close to The Counsel Square there's the spiral tour of The Black Church. The masterpiece was built at the start of the 15th century and it took its name from the fire in 1689 which left the church black. The church can be visited even though right now it's being repaired.
Occasionally the church is staging concerts of classic music. Near the Black Church there's Republicii Street - a nice place for a walk and a great opportunity for shopping. Here you can find handicraft shops where they sell: painted eggs, wollen carpets, wooden toys and engravings. The best view of Brasov can be seen from Tampa (the mountain top) after a trip in the funicular (daily between 10 h and 18 h excepting Mondays).
