The hotel was originally built in 1897 by a glass merchant who would use the buildings striking tower to search for merchant ships coming in to the Port of Leith. Today the property has been extensively refurbished yet still retains many of its original features and period charm. With its excellent location, relaxed ambiance and friendly service, it is an ideal base from which to explore this historic city.
The sophisticated surroundings of the Otterstone Bar & Grill make for a fantastic place to relax and unwind. Having garnered an excellent local reputation for the quality of its food, everything is freshly prepared and cooked on a char broiled grill using the finest local and international produce. Furthermore, the traditional-style Gosford Bar, complete with deep oak panelled walls, offers a tempting selection of malt whiskeys, real ales and bar snacks. For a spot of alfresco dining, the Hotel also has a landscaped garden to the front where meals and beverages can be served.
The hotel also has a 150 capacity function hall which can be used for weddings, christenings and other happy occasions as well as holding corporate events.
