Location AND Value - The easiest Hostel to find when traveling in from Edinburgh Airport or Glasgow. Free tea and coffee and maps available. All guests must present photo Identification on arrival, ie, passport Check-in from 13:00 until 23.00hrs. Check-out by 10:00 hrs. All reservations are payable in full on arrival, no refunds given. All Credit /Debit card transactions carry 5% charge. Please no under 16's unless in private rooms or a group booking. Late check-in available for £5. You must call us at least 24 hours in advance to advise us of a late arrival. Please read all the details below before you book for an understanding of why we think ‘West End Hostel’ is the place for you to stay in Edinburgh for the single traveler or groups of up to 95! WE ALL LOVE SLEEP! - So we operate a quiet time policy after 2300hrs!. For our stag and hen nights we can book Club Class Party-bus Pub Tours, Paint-balling all starting from £25per person and many other entertainments. Only a 15 minute walk from here is Edinburgh Castle and the famous Royal Mile that is a must see. Right on our doorstep we have the wonderful St Mary's Cathedral, a popular landmark, and 10 minutes from our door is Princes Street. An easy 10 minute stroll is the infamous Grassmarket Pub area. There are a range of bars and restaurants within 100 meters and a little further are the football and rugby stadiums - Tynecastle and Murrayfield. We are also opposite the cities busiest bus interchange so you'll have no problems transporting yourself out of the neighborhood. We are happy to help!! Please note: The female dorm is only available for booking by females. If a male books this room your booking will be canceled and the deposit will not be refunded! All other dorms are mixed sex. * Triple rooms consist of lower double bed and upper single bed. * Family room consists of 3 single bunks and 1 lower double bunk. Guests will be asked to settle 50% of their account, which is non refundable, one month prior to arrival when booked into the hotel on the following dates: 5 – 7 February 2010 Inclusive 12 – 14 March 2010 Inclusive 2 – 5 April 2010 Inclusive 1 – 3 May 2010 Inclusive 28 – 31 May 2010 Inclusive 24 - 27 June 2010 Inclusive 29 December 2010 – 2 January 2011 Inclusive (50% non refundable deposit policy does apply on these dates) No Pets Allowed Please take note of our terms and conditions below: You must give 2 days notification when canceling a booking to prevent any penalty fees being charged to your credit card. If you have booked with an agent online or in person, any deposit made to them is non-refundable. Canceling a booking within 2 days of the arrival date will see the equivalent of one night’s room rate charged to the credit card details provided to us with the booking. If you have made a booking on any of the following dates, please note a different cancellation policy applies. Dec 29th 10, Dec 30th 10, Dec 31st 10, Jan 1st 11, Jan 2nd 11. If canceling any bookings for these dates we require 2 weeks notice for there to be no further charges made to your credit card. Canceling within 2 weeks of your arrival date will see the total remaining balance of your bill charged to the credit card details provided to us with your booking. Group Bookings: Please note that if you are a group of 8 or more people you will be asked to pay the remaining balance as a group (not individually) and leave a £20.00 security bond per person on arrival. This bond will be returned on departure once the room/s have been checked by a staff member. Please note that you should allow time for your room to be checked on departure as this can take up to 15 minutes, if you fail to leave time for your room/s to be inspected bonds will not be returned. If we require any damages to be inspected by the owner, bonds will be kept and returned to you at a later date once a price has been determined for the damage. Disturbing other residents will also result in a penalty charge, the amount will be determined on a case by case basis. Upon arrival at the hotel your group will be asked to read through an introduction letter which lists damages and penalty charges as a guide only, the hotel reserves the right to change these at any time without warning.
