DirectionsArriving by train:
Haymarket Station is the closest station to The Hostel. Exit the station and cross the road. Stay left and you will see The Hostel on your left hand side, directly opposite the station. If arriving at Waverley Station, follow the "on foot" directions below or alternatively, take LRT bus numbers 12, 26 or 31 from the left side of George Street and alight at Haymarket station.
Arriving by bus:
On leaving the bus station, walk down to Princes Street and continue the same route as on foot. See below.
Arriving by Air:
Take the LRT shuttle bus 100 from outside the terminal building. Alight the bus at Haymarket Station and The Hostel is located on your left hand side. There is an airport bus link across from The Hostel, for returning to the airport.
Arriving by Car:
Approaching from Glasgow or the A8 (Edinburgh Airport). The Hostel is located on the main Glasgow road into Edinburgh city centre, directly opposite Haymarket Station. Car Parking is available at Morrison Street NCP Car Park.
Arriving on foot:
From Princes Street keep the shops on your right hand side and walk towards Frasers department store at the West End. Continue straight along Shandwick Place until you reach West Maitland Street. Pass Grosvenor Street on your right and The Hostel is located on your right hand side.

Please note that there are no electrical sockets in the dormitories. Unfortunately this is due to guests using irons and hair straighteners in the room and leaving them on the carpets. This is a serious health and safety risk and to ensure the safety of our guests and staff, sockets are supplied in the public areas and hairdryers are provided in the bathrooms.
Check-in from 1 pm until 11 pm. Check-out by 10 am. Any guests arriving after 11 pm will be required to pay a £5 late arrival fee to the member of night staff. Please note this is a one off fee of £5 and not £5 per person. Please advise us in advance of a late check in.
All reservations are payable in full on arrival.
A £10 per person deposit is asked from all guests on arrival which is returned on departure when key cards and bedding are returned.
Group Bookings:
If you are a group of 8 or more people you will be asked to pay the remaining balance as a group (not individually) and leave a £20 security bond per person on arrival. This bond will be returned on departure once the rooms have been checked by a staff member. Please note that you should allow time for your room to be checked as this can take up to 15 minutes, if you fail to leave time for your rooms to be inspected bonds will not be returned. If we require damages to be inspected by the owner, bonds will be kept and returned to you at a later date once a price has been determined for the damage. Disturbing other residents will also result in a penalty charge, the amount will be determined on a case by case basis. Upon arrival at the hotel your group will be asked to read through an introduction letter which lists damages and penalty charges as a guide only, the hotel reserves the right to change these.
