Inverness Student Hostel

By Car: If arriving from the south: on the A9, turn left when you reach the large roundabout beside the Kessock Bridge. Continue along this road and go straight on at the next 2 roundabouts. As you come downhill you will reach another roundabout, go straight on here continuing to go downhill. Keep in the left had lane. Turn left at the next roundabout and then move into the right hand lane. At the traffic lights turn right and then follow this road along the riverside until you are at the traffic lights next to Johnny Foxes Pub. Turn left and follow the road towards McDonalds and continue to follow the road round the corner to the right and then up the hill. You will pass Inverness castle on your right hand side and will reach a set of traffic lights outside the Castle Tavern. Make sure that you are in the left hand lane and continue straight on up the hill. You will now be able to see our hostel on your right hand side and the free car park entrance is slightly further up the hill on the right hand side. By Car: If arriving from the north on the A82: follow the main road into Inverness. You will go over the Caledonian Canal and continue straight on this street for about 5 minutes. At all traffic lights, go straight on until you reach the set of lights just before crossing over the River Ness. At these lights you need to be in the right hand lane. Continue straight on and cross the river and head straight on towards the shops. You will see Primark on your left and McDonalds ahead. Continue on this road past McDonalds, you will see Inverness Castle on your right and you need to get into the left hand lane. At the traffic lights opposite the Castle Tavern continue straight on up the hill. You will now be able to see our hostel on your right hand side and the free car park entrance is slightly further up the hill on the right hand side. By Bus: Make your way out of the bus station towards the main shopping street and turn left. At the pedestrian crossing outside the train station crossover the road and turn left. Continue straight on and take the right hand fork into the pedestrianized area. When you reach the high street turn right and continue straight ahead until you reach McDonalds. Turn left at McDonalds and walk along past Inverness Castle which will be on your right until you reach a pedestrian crossing opposite The Castle Tavern. Cross over here and turn left and walk up the steep hill (if you start going downhill you are going the wrong way!) - You will now be able to see our hostel on the right hand side. By Train: Follow the above bus directions from the crossing outside the main entrance of the train station.
