The ferry terminal is just 40 minutes on foot, and provides a service to Harris and North Uist. At the pier, which is a 40mins walk or 5mins drive way you can find Uig Pottery, Isle of Skye Brewery, a petrol station, shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.
