FROM THE HIGHWAY-West from the hotel is a highway A2 (Karavanke - Ljubljana). Branching off at Vodice exit there is a 6 km drive trough Zapoge, Hraše and Smlednik to the hotel.
HIGHWAY FROM LJUBLJANA-Starting from the centre of Ljubljana one must take Celovška Road to the begining of the highway in the suburbs Šentvid. Then take Vodice exit and drive trough Hraše and Smlednik to Valburga village. From the centre of Ljubljana to our hotel is only 22km and this part of the highway is toll-free.
From the centre of Ljubljana take Celovška Road to begining of the highway in the Šentvid suburbs. Continue trough Medno and on the top of the road in Medvode turn right. Then drive trough Zbilje to the hotel. Distance from the centre of Ljubljana is 18km.
FROM KRANJ-Take the road trough Hrastje, Prebacevo, Trboje and Dragocajna. This way is 12km distant from the centre of Kranj (hotel Creina).
FROM KAMNIK-Drive trough Moste, Vodice, Zapoge and Hraše to Valburga. This way is 17km distance between Kamnik and Hotel Kanu.
FROM ŠKOFJA LOKA-Drive trough Godešic and Retece accross, the crossroad at Jeprc and trough Zbilje to the hotel. Distance is 11km.
FROM DOMŽALE-There is 20 km drive trough Rodica, Memgeš, Moste, Vodice and Hraše to our hotel.
FROM THE BRNIK AIRPORT -trough Spodnji Brnik, Vodice, Hraše and Valburgo. This way is 14km long.

Kanu hotel is situated in the Alpine region of Slovenia, overlooking Lake Zbilje (stretching behind the dammed River Sava). From the hotel rooms is a stunning view of the River Sava, the Valburga Village and Smlednik with it's Old Castle. More distant, yet also beautiful is a view of the central ridge of Kamniške Alps. Karavenke and Julian Alps with Slovenia's hieghest peak - Triglav.
Hotel provides accomodation in 4 suites and 25 rooms. All the rooms have balconies, exept the ones on the attic.Every room has a bathroom, equiped with hower and a hair dryer, TV-set, mini bar,direct phone line and access to internet.
Our exellent restaurant, sitting 180 guests, has different separate booths and a glassed verandah with a view of the lake. There is a bar beside the reception desk and another one in the garden beside the swimming pool and tennis courts. Hotel’s kichen is appreciated for it's Slovenian and Central European cusine. Specialities are old peasant dishes and wild meat dishes. Hotel offers also wide range of quality Slovenian and forign wines.
There are two swimming pools, a garden buffe, four tennis courts and a playground in the hotel compaund. The guests can also use a sauna (turkish and finnish), a fitness hall and two conference halls (sitting 20 to 80 persons). All the necesary accessories are at disposal: graphoscope, projection screen, flip chart, TV-set and VHS recorder.
The hotel garden is suitable for picnics and other open-space events. We offer horse-back riding lessons and rides in a rustic cart, pony rides, fishing and rowing on the lake .Hotel Kanu offers complete services to owners of camping cars and a horse tether.
