City Backpackers Hostel
City Backpackers is designed to be the ultimate meeting place, where you are guaranteed to meet fellow travellers from all over the world.
We have a big guest kitchen with plenty of space in the fridges if you want to save money by cooking your own food. It has a really nice vibe around dinnertime, when everyone meets and talk while cooking the free pasta. There's also a cosy breakfast café, where we have Swedish cooking classes for our guests a couple of nights every week.
Relax and meet new friends in the sauna, which is free for two hours every evening. We have plenty of common areas where you can hang out and read daily newspapers and international magazines, or get to know the other guests. There's a book exchange and satellite TV with a DVD player, and you can borrow classic Swedish films with English subtitles any time.
In the summer we furnish our courtyard with comfy sofas where you can stretch out and watch the light blue Swedish summer night sky. It's okay to have a cigarette here, but nowhere else in the hostel.
City Backpackers own staff takes turns showing our guests Stockholm and Swedish culture. We go on guided bike rides twice a week in the summer, and in winter we arrange an awesome and incomparable Viking Sauna Tour. We go to a wood heated sauna floating on the Baltic Sea outside Stockholm – a unique chance to try a weird and wonderful Scandinavian tradition; winter bathing.
We love our planet and want to save it! That’s why we let our guests bring their own bed linen if they want to save money – it saves laundry, too. We also recycle our waste, and use electricity from renewable sources, and energy efficient white wares and light bulbs.
City Backpackers is open 365 days a year and has no curfew. No hostel membership is needed. Reception is open 08.00 – 24.00 (8am – midnight).
Please note that should you need to, you should cancel a booking the day before arrival (minimum 24 hours in advance). If not, the first night will be charged.
