On the upside direction, you can use the tram to get to Esenler bus station or Istanbul Ataturk Airport by a metro connection at Aksaray. On the down side direction, you can use it to get to the ferry ports departing to Bosphorus, Üsküdar, Kadiköy or Golden Horn and there is a finicular from Kabatas (the last stop of tram) to Taksim Square and Istiklal Street. No need to use the tram for Grand Bazaar or Spice Market (Egyptian Bazaar) as both are easy to walk from Effendi Apartment.
