Cheap Flights
nifty visa-checking tool & max stay allowances
I sawr this on Delta’s website:
Visa & Passport Information
Of interest (to me, at least),
+ US passport holders require visa to enter Russia (confirmed)
+ US passport holders do NOT require visa to visit Ukraine (as of about 2 years ago?)
+ US passport holders can stay in Serbia, Bulgaria, Israel, Romani, Croatia = 90 days each. I didn’t know this; I thought it was only 30 days.

This forum is not so much a magic genie bottle/cheap fare wishing well as much as it is for helping you figure out how to find best fares. Novice users will need to show some effort.
Lowest price for a 1-way, SEA to CDG?
Looking to fly one-way from SeaTac to Charles de Gaulle in spring of 2011. I used ITA’s Matrix planner and found $385 occasionally throughout April of 2011, flying Icelandair. Looks pretty good to me, but I was wondering if the brainpower in this forum could spot anything better! Don, you’re sort of the airfare prodigy around here so your advice (is the price right?) is particularly helpful. Thanks!
Flights from Rome
I can’t seem to find any flights from Rome to Calgary in mid-july any cheaper than $1000USD. Anyone know of any way to get a cheaper flight back from Rome? I found flights from Calgary to Amsterdam for $500USD, but leaving from Rome seems to be a gong show.
DTW/CLE to MUC/somewhere close around the holidays...
Obviously holiday fares can fluctuate wildly and tend to the higher end. But I’m sort of seeing if I can’t fly someone out for a visit around Xmas time when I’m in Austria. I’ve checked ITA with mixed results so I figured I’d ask on here. I’m looking at:
Detroit or Cleveland (or even Chicago in a pinch) to Munich or Vienna (or really anywhere else within reason) from about the 22nd of December to the 10th of January. Would obviously like to avoid hideous layovers but if it saves 100 bucks, I’ll think about it, haha
…
Fall USA-Europe best airfares
I used ITA for departures from Sep 11 + 30 days, staying 20-21 nights. Here’s some highlights.
Can I find a lower price ?
Hi, I’m leaving from Montreal for my 2011 Eurotrip at the end of may.
My plane itinerary is :
Montreal, Canada (could be Ottawa) —- Paris, France
Athènes, Greece —- Montreal, Quebec
I looked on expedia, air transat, travel cuts, air canada … And the best rate I found was at about 1400$ tx. included for both flights. Is this good? Because I find it expensive!
Last time I went to Paris my flight was around 900$ …
This time, could the flight be that moore expensive because I am leaving from 2 different locations?
march flights
I am planning a 10 day trip in mid march of 2011 and was hoping for some feedback on airfare. I was wondering if 950 from dtw>nce>bcn>lis>dtw is a great price or if there is a possibility of seeing it lower. I have seen it vary from 950-1000 over the last month. Also any feed back would be appreciated.
Thanks
Scott
Book ahead or wait until I'm there? EasyJet/RyanAir
I will be taking 3 flights in Europe and I’m wondering if I should book my flights now or wait and hope that the prices don’t increase and book when I’m there.
I understand by not booking now that it allows for more flexibility, but I also do not want the prices to increase and end up having to pay an arm and a leg.
If anyone has any info on the airports listed below, I welcome all information.
VCE —> FCO $22 EasyJet
CIA —> GRO $30 RyanAir *Not looking forward to using these airports.
BCN —> CDG $46 EasyJet
THANKS!
