Hi my name is Rebecca and I will be working in Mallorca beginning in August. I was wondering if there is anyone else au pairing on the island besides me and if so would like to meet up once I get there. Let me know! Thanks.

Working across Europe

Hi I’m a 23 year old British student who is looking to travel across Europe to Greece.
I would just wondering if anyone can offer any advice with regards to working in places such as Holland Germany and Italy.
I would not be worried what type of work I do eg. bar work would be perfect.

Just wondering if anyone can give any advice with regards to whether I would be able to get work easily, whether the language barrier would cause difficulties and whether there would be any visa issues.

Thanks very much

Living in germany

Hello Everyone,

I have lived in West Germany and East Germany, for a total of 5 years. 3 years in the West while in the Military, and Two years in the East as a Expat(US). Several months ago my company closed our business location and I was transferred back to the US. Even though I am happy to be back in the USA, and see family, I have a dilemma!!I want to go back to Germany! My new work location is not desirable, including where I live(Too much CRIME!) I am missing Germany, mostly the East, and wish there was an opportunity for me to return.

Want to work abroad but where: France or Italy?

Hi members,

I recently completed a working holiday trip in the UK and it was all in all a great experience… it’s incited in me a desire to do more of these trips but I feel like time is ticking away and I have to cram as much travelling time into my 20’s as much as possible, as soon as possible. I am currently 24 years old, sans degree. So for the rest of my 20’s I would want to complete my degree while doing as much travelling as humanly possible— that is my goal. I have some questions.

Finding a job in South France

I’d like to travel to South France and find a job there. I’ll have my work visa. but my french is quite limited although I am studying real hard. Also finding a place to live sounds tough for me as I have no idea at all about France. I am super into experiencing country life in France so it’d be awesome if anyone could share any knowledge about finding a job, finding a place to live in countryside in France. Also where would be the best countryside in France ?

Work in hostels

hi everyone, i got a question about working in hostels while travelling.

given that i have no experience at all, what is the best way to find jobs in hostels in exchange of a bed and maybe some food ? Should i try to email some places before, or show up for a few nights, get to know the people/hostel and then ask ?

Do you guys know if such hostel work is only possible to find in high season or that can work in low season also ? (say autumn in central/eastern europe)

ANy advices are more than welcome. Thanks again !

Wanting to travel but not sure how to start

Been planning to travel at least Europe for years but never quite had the guts to do it. Haven’t got a huge amount of money behind me but if I can at least start and get some work while I’m travelling then I should be okay. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on making those first steps out of the front door and how to keep walking…

Any help would really be appreciated Smile

Question about migrating to Europe

Hi

If I now obtain a working holiday visa for Europe, and work in a European country for any period of time within the validity period of the visa, does that mean I won’t be able to migrate to that particular country ever in my life time?

Because I came across a website telling me that european working visas for a country are only issued once in a lifetime. I would just like to know if that means there’s no way I’ll ever be able to migrate and live in that country in the future.

Eg;
I want to live in Italy in the future.
