cheap flights

Has anybody tested Travelgrove.com. I just visited their site and it seemed really easy to use. Although I do not like their landing pages much, but I saw they have some award tracking. Has anyone used that?

I am looking for cheap flights to spain that leave the last two weeks of may and come back the first or second week of august i have a lot of flexibility but i am finding it hard to find cheap tickets. The tickets I was looking at through student universe were 850 dollars two weeks ago but I just found out today I got accepted to this program and the tickets are almost double the price now. Is it smart to wait and buy my ticket at the last second and have them be cheaper or will I end up having to pay even more?

I’ve read that it is best to wait until within 3 1/2 months of departure to book a flight: booking earlier results in higher fare. The article was talking about US domestic flights. Is this also true for trans-atlantic flights? What is the best time to book a flight to europe?

A friend & I are planning a 3 week trip next May…2 weeks in Italy & 1 week in Greece. Ferry trips to the Greek islands are so long, so we’re thinking about flying to a couple of islands. Has anyone done this and was it complicated? Thanks

This is my first post here. I usually fly to Europe about twice a year and in the past 6 years or so I have always been able to find some sort of a reasonable deal. For example, last summer we flew from IAD to MUC between June 10 and August 10 and paid $2000 for 4 tickets. When we fly out of CHS, we usually pay about $680 per ticket.

Anyways, this summer, I am not able to find ANYTHING below $800. I would like to fly between June 30 and July 10th and return between July 30th and August 10th. At least 4 weeks.

I really need to stay below $800 per ticket incl everything.

We’re thinking of starting a 2 – 2 1/2 week trip in Rome, then making our way to Italy, Munich, Paris, Brussels with a day trip to Bruges, and ending up in Amsterdam (we think that’s probably the best order, but if you have any other suggestions that’s great). We thought at first that we would just take the Eurail to every city, but the gaps between Florence, Munich, and Paris are pretty far. Also, Italy isn’t adjacent to Germany, so it couldnt’ be counted on a 4-country pass.

Calling all experts, I have been browsing the forum for a few weeks trying to discover my own deal to no avail. I have been using ITA software (among others) to find something from Toronto to Bucharest in July or August for 35 or 40 days (returning on or before Sept. 6th) for 2 people . So far, the cheapest I can find is 1031 in CAD from Aircanada and Airfrance (961USD) including all taxes and fees.
