Just a rough idea![]()
Good start, You will want to cut out some place’s it’s a bit too rushed.
I also agree that it is rushed. Your budget is good tho…
This is way passed rushed. I don’t think the Greece/Turkey part is even logistically possible. You’ll have to leave Mykonos the day before you arrive there. You need at least 10 days to do the Greece/Turkey part of your trip.
Thank you for your advise.
In reality most of the destinations I had as 1 day I was planing to see in transit but for some reason when I put 0 days it would still take a day in the calendar so I cut the days out of the main destination before and put them there. I am also planing to sleep a few nights in the train instead of wasting my time sleeping in the cities.
Time is not a huge constraint for me, I am graduating this year and I plan to see most of Europe before becoming a full time employee. My biggest constraint is cash. The number of days was mostly based on research of pre-planed tours. In response to your comments I just added 5 more days to my overall trip and cut down most of the 0 day and 1 day locations leaving room for 3,4 day locations.
oldlady, you are right that turkey part is rushed, however I put that day mostly to compensate for the cost of travel in turkey, I don’t think I will stay in Ankara although a 1 day stay is possible and the train ride should not take more then a day but if it does, the cost of a sleeping train cabin in turkey is pretty low from my research and I should be able to afford it with a day’s worth of compensation. based on your advise I changed my stay in Ankara to 3 days in order to better compensate for the budget of traveling to turkey and from there to Iran. (I read that it costs $80 to travel from Istanbul to Tehran, Iran. $70 from Ankara) I had included Mykonos as I have been told that it is not possible to go straight from Athens to turkey with ferries without visiting one of the in-between islands first. there are ferries running from most of the islands to turkey but none from Athens it self.
I also changed the plan a bit in-order to spend the weekends in Barcelona, Berlin and Corfu as I have been told these make for good nightlife scene.
Please let me know what you think of the changes made. And if there is any other changes to make. If you think my budget can be stretched for more days let me know, I will use my budget to stay in hostels, try out some local cousins, enjoy some attractions available, and see a few of the museums while spending the rest of my time in the night scene and nature. I will prepay the cost of the ticket to Madrid and the Global eurail pass so that is not a factor in my budget. I can not possibly cut out traveling to Greece or Turkey as I plan to take the land route to Iran and as such need to travel that way anyway. I can however shorten my stay in any spot if more time can be spent more usefully in an alternate destination.
I like it, you have made some great changes, good time in each city. I would be tempted to add in Prague or Bratislava in between Berlin and Munich. By shaving a couple of day’s off them. Also perhaps cut a day off Venice and give it to Rome, Apart from that looks good!
Please let me know what you think of the new changes
If you are set on going through Greece and Turkey to get to Iran then it’s about the best you can do, so looks good to me.
