    You are covering large areas in a few weeks and have picked the “big” cities. I personally love each one of these cities, but I think you should also consider a detour here and there.

    I would also suggest that you cut out one country, otherwise you will spending a fair amount of time and money on flights and/or rail. While you can get to Istanbul by train, there is construction at the moment into the city and it is very far from Western Europe. Same for Athens. I would either skip Istanbul and Athens for another trip, or skip Italy and Spain.
