Seems a bit rushed. Remember that part of that first day will be spent checking into where you’re staying and that you’ll be tired from your flight. I’d definitely drop at least one place, and since you’re only planning to devote one day each to Venice and Salzberg they might be good candidates.
Thanks for your input. I think you’re definitely right, it was totally rushed. We have decided to focus on one main area, while fitting in one planned excursion and then leaving the rest of the time just open for really getting into Budapest. I think this is the right way for us to go, it being our first time to Europe. I don’t want to leave Europe too exhausted from trying to tackle the whole thing.
I don’t think you will be too rushed at all if you add in Vienna and Bratislava. I understand that you really want to get to know Budapest, but 11 days is excessive. I would add 2 days in Vienna, 2 days in Bratislava and maybe an extra day in Prague.
Hmm, that is definitely a thought. The main reason I am planning to stay so long in Budapest is I have a friend’s house to stay in there, which would make things easier as we could leave some of our things there and not necessarily have to “backpack” everywhere. But with both Vienna and Bratuslava on the way to Prague, I think that is a really good idea. Thanks for the input!
I agree with tigrouflip. I spent 5 days in Budapest and this was about right to do all I wanted, I also spent 2 days in Bratislava. It is smaller but I would still recommend going there.
thanks everyone
