These are my calculations so far. Can anyone offer any suggestions on what I might need to bump up in terms of a “just in case” expenses?
I have places to stay in Manchester and Nottingham, but I included them in the calculations anyways. The cost of the hostels is based off of what came up on average for shared rooms when I clicked on the “book hostel” option under each planned city.
Looks fine to me! If you can, and you’re pretty set on your days, I would book ahead of time since the better hostels can be packed in August.
I don’t have the money YET, which is the problem. Those are based off of what I CAN potentially make between then and now.
I don’t have a job yet. My last work is up (my area is seasonal unfortunately), so I need to find a new place and save up another thousand or so to make this fully possible. That and I don’t have a passport yet either. By the time I get out of school, the gov. building is closed for me to get the application. I figured that we could, theoretically, do the trip for as little as 1400 total to get the flight and everything, but that’s a big THEORETICALLY lol. I currently have $400, and another $400 in a fund that will be insanely difficult but not impossible for me to access.
I also need a credit card to book the flights, as well.
But hey, I’m applying for a program for after I get back from the trip too, that hopefully will be really good and doesn’t involve much of a first glance cost.
