Basically, we want to visit some historical sights, see the countries a bit, experience the flavors, maybe do a little partying. We plan to mostly stay at hostels, but want to change it up every now and then by staying somewhere more private for the two of us. I just want to bounce some ideas around with experienced travelers about transportation (which choices, costs, organization of the trip, etc.). I also wanted to determine which sights to see at each stop and what I have time for. She has always wanted to see Greece, and I have always wanted to see France again and some of Italy. I threw London in there because of it’s proximity to Dublin (where I think we will fly in). I also plan on taking excursions to locales near the cities if I can and would appreciate suggestions there to. Please feel free to drop some suggestions and ideas to me.

    I appreciate it. Happy Travels!

    Hi Matt!

My boyfriend and I have the same plans as you do… get a taste of Europe! We also plan on mostly hostels with some nice hotels hopefully in Paris & Rome (the most expensive ones!, this obviously may change). While I offer no experience on traveling, I have read Rick Steves guide to Europe (which does not have a greece section) and Europe on a shoestring. I so far enjoy both books (easy to read, good ideas).
Happy Planning! If I discover any tricks/ideas about Italy/Greece/Paris I will let you know!

    Great looking trip planned out!
Just a few suggestions: Spend 3 nights in Florence and take a day trip to Pisa instead of going there for a full day.
I wouldn’t go to London just because it seems on the way to Paris from Dublin. you will most likely fly from Dublin anyway so you might consider flying straight to Paris if you have no particular interest in London, especially because it is expensive.

Thanks! I think that’s a great idea. I kinda added London only because I wanted to see Big Ben, the Palace, take a trip to see Stonehenge, and just get a feel of the place, but maybe another time (perhaps if the dollar becomes strong again, if it ever does). I’d love to save the cash and spend more time in certain areas too, so I might just take your recommendation tigrouflip. Merci beaucoup!

Added a few places to see, not sure with the days on some of them, and with the leftover days what to do. I know she wants to see Meteora, hence why I added Kalampaka. I also put down Mykonos because I hear it is nice and fun for younger people. However, if there is somewhere else that would better suit a young couple and is fairly inexpensive to get to, let me know. We are looking for something relaxing for the end of our trip, although, a little partying could be fun before we head back to the states.

    Thanks ahead.
