16 days to travel... need some itinerary suggestions!
Mon, 06/04/2007 - 19:21
Hi!
So I’m flying to Milan to meet up with a friend and we have 16 days to travel. I was thinking of taking a train from Milan to Interlaken and spending 2 days there. Spend a day in Geneva and then onwards to France. From there I was thinking about going to the coast of France and make my way to Barcelona and Tarragona and end the trip there. Is this feasible and does anyone have any itinerary suggestions (esp. in France)? Also, should I invest in a eurail pass (i’m a student)? Thanks!!!!! woohoo i’m so excited!

By the “coast of France”, I assume that you mean the Med. Coast? When is your trip? The reason that I’m asking is that July/August are the two months when many French (and others in Europe) take vacations, and southern France may be packed with people.
From Geneva, you might consider the folllowing places: Dijon and Beaune, Lyon, Orange/Avignon/Nimes/Aix-en-Provence.
If you want to take a stab at the “Riviera”, consider not going as far as Nice to save time. There are some very nice towns such as Sanary-sur-Mer fairly close to Marseille.
As you head to Barcelona, stop at Montpellier and a tiny village called Collioure, which is just north of the Spanish border.
