Hello. I was hoping someone could tell me what the difference between 1st and 2nd class really is on Italian trains. There will be no overnight trains. Also, can you reserve a seat with second class or only first class? I will be traveling in July.

Second issue: I was using www.railsaver.com as I had seen posted on other topics. I typed in my itinerary and it said a 4 day saverpass was the best option. Then I typed in each leg of it individually to see what point-to-point tickets would cost and they were cheaper than the passes. I thought this website was supposed to give you the cheapest way (at least that was the option I thought I selected), so I was wondering if they made a mistake? Did I make a mistake on how to quote point-to-point tickets? Is there a different website to use for point-to-point? Should I buy tickets here or wait until I am there? With point-to-point tickets do you have to buy them for a certain time or just day?

If it helps the itinerary is as follows: Naples to Rome (spend 3 days in Rome), then to Florence, Pisa, Florence (all in one day) and on that same night (not a night train, just late evening) to Venice.

Thank you for your help!
