Hello all

Need some urgent help and advise here as I am not deriving too much joy out of searching the net for this topic

We will get into Edinburgh from Liverpool by bus and spend a day there . Post this , we plan to hire a car and drive around for a couple of days . Wanted to cover St Andrews old course and some part of highlands ( Inverness , Loch Ness , Fort William etc ) and then from a convenient place , leave the car there and take a bus back to Liverpool

Questions
1) Is is advisable ?
2) Where can we hire a car on the best price from ?
3) How long does it take from St Andrews to Inverness ? Any interesting stopovers ?
4) From Inverness where can we drive to and then leave the car somewhere and also catch a bus to Liverpool ( asking for too much ? )
5) Also wanted to see a malt whisky distillary on the way …

An excellent idea. We’ve driven around the highlands twice and really enjoyed it both times. I can’t help on your other questions. We rented and returned the car at the main train station in Edinburgh, but that probably wasn’t the best price and location wouldn’t work for you.
