2007 Documentary

Heading to Oktoberfest 2007? First time? Long time Oktobermeister? Wouldn’t mind being followed by a documentary crew for the first week of the festivities? (We are NOT looking for those looking to get stupid drunk – this is NOT Oktoberfest gone wild). Then Liquid Vishn and Global Village Productions would like to hear from you.
IMPORTANT: There is NO monetary consideration for you appearance in this documentary – this is entirely voluntary.. (see final note below)
We are producing a documentary on the Oktoberfest phenomenon – why…. because we love beers and ales! From “O’Zapft is” through to the following Thursday night we will be a shadow with you – not all of the time, but shall pre-arrange to meet you to follow for a period of time throughout the week.
We are looking for articulate folks who are their to enjoy the festival and, of course, drink – oh yes… that part is important. We are not looking for those who REALLY think Budweiser is the King of Beers. Or those who believe Sam Adams Oktoberfest is just as good as an Affligem. We are looking for those who go to Oktoberfest to enjoy the food, festivities and the vast selection of beers and ales – and is looking to try them all…
Let us know your itinerary.
Also looking for someone who could perform translation during some/any interviews. Not a problem if not, as we are in talks with the press office already.
No time-wasters please. If you don’t wish to be on-camera or talk to us or will have “2nd thoughts” during or after the shoot – please enjoy the festival and do not contact us.

FINAL NOTE: However, depending on whether the project is purchased for air, some monetary consideration will be offered. If the project is aired free of charge (it happens more than you know) obviously we will not be able to offer anything except the copy and credit for appearance.

3. When will we get a real beer fest in the U.S. ?

3. Probably when America has breweries older than the country itself is now and enough Germans have immigrated there.

Well, this year will likely be like most others – not very structured, but here goes… A “very rough” draft type itinerary for Munchen Oktoberfest #11 for me…
Sonntag (23.9.07) – Depends on the Liquid Vishn guys. If they want to film at the fest, and/or in the city, etc… We will do so. If not; my wife and I will most likely spend time away from the fest grounds (Englischer Garten, Augustiner Keller, Marienplatz area, & shopping)…
Montag (24.9.07) – Reservation in der Hoppodrom Gallerie vom 1130 – 1539 uhr. Probably hang-around the Augustiner, Weinzelt, und Paulaner after that.
Tuesday (25.9.07) – Party at the Schottenhamel in earlyer afternoon.
Wednesday (26.9.07) – Play it by ear.
* As always; we will wind-up at #88 Schwanthaler str a few times in the late evening hours…
